BJP condemns hurling of stone on Amit Shah’s convoy in Tirupati

Hyderabad, May 11 (UNI) Telangana BJP unit president Dr K Laxman condemned the hurling of stone by TDP activists on the convoy of BJP President Amit Shah in Tirupati on Friday.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu should tender an apology to Mr Shah owning moral responsibility, he said.

A group of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) activists, holding placards and wearing black badges suddenly obstructed the convoy of Amit Shah at Alipiri, the foot hill of Tirumala when he was proceeding to Airport after worship of Lord Venkateswara. The activists also raised slogans against the BJP for denying Special Category Status (SCS) to the state.

One of the activists hurled a stone on one of the vehicles and he was arrested by police. They also raised slogans like ”Amit Shah go back and SCS be accorded to AP”.

Talking to newsmen here on Friday, Dr Laxman said that the stone attack on Amit Shah a ‘shameful’ act. TDP is behaving like this due to fear of defeat in the next elections. BJP led NDA government was trying to fullfill all the promises as per the AP Re-organisation Act, he said.

Dr Laxman said that the Modi Government was moving ahead with the agenda of development. With the good governance and pro-poor schemes, BJP came to power in 21 states.The winning stretch would continue in South India also including Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, he said.
