Bengaluru, May 11 (UNI) The Election Commission of India today deferred polling to Rajarajeshwari Nagar assembly segment in Karnataka.
Following unearthing of over 9500 valid voter ID cards in an apartment and an attempt to influence the voters.
Speaking to reporters Karnataka Chief Electoral Officer Sanjiv Kumar said the decision was taken by EC to maintain sanctity of elections under Article 324.
The election will now be held on May 28 and counting will take place on May 31.
Originally the election was scheduled for May 12 and counting was to take place on May 15.
