Cong to stage protest outside Kejriwal’s residence on Sunday to demand Kejriwal’s resignation on CCTV scam

 New Delhi, May 12 (UNI) The Delhi unit of Congress party will on Sunday hold a candle march outside Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal residence to demand his resignation on the alleged scam related to installation of CCTV cameras in the city.

The Congress workers, under the leadership of Delhi chief Ajay Maken will assemble at Trauma Centre here in Civil Lines and then proceed to Mr Kejriwal residence, Delhi Congress leader Aravinder Singh Lovely and Haroon Yusuf said on Saturday.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr Lovely said,”It is very unfortunate that those who earlier pledged to fight corruption, are trying to divert attention from the corruption in the project on installation of CCTV cameras by charging the LG of blocking the project .

DPCC will hold a candle march outside Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence tomorrow on this issue.”
Mr Haroon Yusuf challenged the ruling Government to file a defamation case against them if they were leveling false allegation of corruption in project relating to installation of CCTV cameras.

“If we are leveling false allegations, I challenge them to file defamation case,” the senior party leader said.
On Friday, Mr Maken had alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party Government in Delhi has compromised the security of the nation by awarding the contract for the installation of CCTV cameras in Delhi to Chinese Government PSU Hikvision, having 58 per cent share of the Chinese Government.

Notably, earlier in the day, Delhi Deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia has writen a letter to Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal charging him with blocking the project on installation of CCTV cameras, and sought time from the latter to discuss the matter.
