Maliwal attacks Akbar over his statement on charges of sexual harassment

New Delhi, Oct 14 (UNI) Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal on Sunday took a dig at Minister of State for External Affairs MJ Akbar after the latter stated that charges of sexual harassment levelled against him by several women journalists as ‘wild’ and ‘baseless’.

Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Ms Maliwal said, “All 9 women are making false allegations? They are after your seat in Parliament? If anyone is impacting BJP adversely today, it is MJ Akbar for his notoriety and lecherous behaviour and PM Modi for his unbelievable silence and inaction in the matter.”

Mr Akbar who had returned to India on Sunday morning from a foreign trip , issued a statement in which he termed the charges against him as baseless.
