Hallucinations drives engineering student to end life in Nagpur

Nagpur, Oct 16 (UNI) A 19-year-old student of Priyadarshini College of Engineering ended his life, as he was allegedly summoned by a ‘soul of a boy’ whose death he witnessed, police said here on Tuesday.

In a suicide note recovered from the pocket of deceased, Saurabh Nagpurkar revealed that he was being called by the dead boy whose death he witnessed two months back in front of his college.
“I don’t believe in ghosts but souls are calling me. Thus , I am committing suicide”, wrote Saurabh in his suicide note.
Saurabh ended his life on Sunday late evening by hanging himself with his sister’s scarf from the ceiling fan in his room.

Saurabh had been repeatedly discussing about the accident he witnessed on Umrer road and kept telling his friends and family about how the soul of this boy, who died in front of him, haunted him and constantly called upon him.
Pyschiatrists however described the extreme step as the result of psychosis, which results in such hallucinations.
However, this can be cured through medicines and counseling.
