Charas worth Rs 8.60 cr seized near Indo-Nepal border, one nabbed

Raxaul, Oct 21 (UNI) Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) jawans have seized charas worth Rs 8.60 crore in the international market near Indo-Nepal border under Ramgarhwa police station area in East Champaran district.

SSB`s 17th battalion commandant Priyabrat Sharma told media here that SSB jawans seized 43 kgs of charas worth Rs 8.60 crore from a car near Ramgarhwa roundabout when the consignment was being smuggled from Nepal last Friday night. He said that a smuggler identified as Girjesh Kumar (35), a native of Kanpur was arrested from the spot.

Mr Sharma said that the consignment was on way to Kanpur when it was seized. He said that consignment as well as smuggler had been handed over to Ramgarhwa police station.
