Nashik, Nov 15 (UNI) Two persons were arrested near Girnare village of the district on Wednesday by the State Excise Department officials, for smuggling liquor made in Daman city.
Nashik Division State Excise Department Deputy Commissioner Prasad Surve said on a tip-off, police intercepted a car and recovered Daman-made liquor worth Rs two lakh from Harsul-Girnare road, near Girnare Shivar.
The accused, identified as Abdul Sheikh and Rizwan Khan, natives of Gujarat, were arrested and the vehicle impounded.
A case has been registered against the duo for smuggling Daman-made liquor, which is banned in Maharashtra.
