80 International operators joining in Tripura Tourism Mart

Agartala,  To showcase the potential, the Tripura government has organised three days long 1st Tourism Mart here on Nov 22 next with as many as 80 international tour operators from 21 countries, Tourism Minister Pranjit Singharoy said today.
Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb and Union Minister of state for Tourism Alphons Kannanthanam are scheduled to open the mart comprising of exhibition of tourist sites, cultural shows and discussion and interaction on tourism promotion.
Besides, leading Indian tour operators, tourism entrepreneurs and operators from Australia, US, Canada, China, France, Russia and all South Asian countries would participate in the events, he said, adding that a separate program will be held at Neermahal – the water palace of eastern India to showcase Tripura’s cultural diversity and talent.
About 300 tourists from India and abroad will also take part in the event.
“The Hojagiri dance of Reang tribes of the state is internationally acclaimed performance. It was performed in British parliament too. In the event our aim is to promote the unique cultural talents before the international delegates,” Singharoy said.
He further added that the tour operators would be taken to all important tourist destinations of the state followed by site specific discussion for introducing those spots to international visitors. Tourism Ministry has sanctioned Rs 2.60 lakh for the mart and extended support for it’s international brand building, the minister added.
On the other hand, Biplab Kumar Deb laid emphasis on expansion of tourism based on rich biodiversity and wildlife. Besides, preservation and protection of state’s bio-resources, he directed to promote them for tourism purposes.
