Odisha govt. to provide house to 13,000 families affected by cyclonic storm Titli

Bhubaneswar, Nov 19 (UNI) Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today directed to provide houses to 13,000 families under the Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana whose houses were damaged by the Titli Cyclonic storm on October 11 last.

The Chief Minister’s office sources here said a sum of Rs 176 crore would be spent for the purpose.

A decision has been taken to entrust the responsibility of arranging the construction material for the houses to local business people and the self help groups. Additional funds would be provided to the SHG for the purpose.

Sources said the UNDP would be requested to help in the preparation of construction materials, training of masons and to provide livelihood to the cyclone affected people.
