Police detains, books bovine smuggler under PSA in Rajouri

Jammu, Nov 19 (UNI) Police on Monday detained and booked a bovine smuggler under Public Safety Act (PSA) in Rajouri district.

“For notorious activities in bovine smuggling, police has booked and detained a bovine smuggler on the detention orders issued by District Magistrate (DM) of Rajouri,” Yugal Manhas, SSP Rajouri said.

He identified the accused as Mohammad Amin, a resident of Badhoon village of Rajouri.

A case under different sections has been registered against him and investigation started.

The SSP said that during recent exercise, he was found involved in notorious activities of bovine smuggling and thus becoming a threat to peaceful atmosphere, forcing authorities to detain him under (PSA).

A dossier for his detention was submitted to DM Rajouri by the police who in turn issued the order which was implemented today, the SSP further added.

He has been lodged in central jail Kot Bhalwal Jammu.
