Development and upliftment of all sections of society is aim of Congress : Dr Tanwar

Chandigarh, Nov 20 (UNI) Haryana Congress President Dr Ashok Tanwar has said that development and upliftment of all sections of the society, including the other backward castes (OBC) has been the fundamental principal of the Congress party.

Addressing a sammelan of OBC at Kaman Sarain in Gurugram on Tuesday, Dr Tanwar said that the Congress party has the target to restore equality, fraternity and welfare of society. 

He said that the OBC is at the top of talented sections of the society and by its diligence and hardwork the OBC has made laudable contribution in the development of the country. 

He expressed concern that BJP governments both at Centre and in the State and RSS leaders have tried to pull down the OBC. These people have been trying to create rift between the OBC, he said and added that during the last four years, the Modi government and the Khattar government have deprived this section from financial help and development.

Dr Tanwar said that since many generations, the OBC has contributed in the development of the country by their talent, but the BJP governments at the Centre and in the State have not helped OBC to develop their talent further. He said that Congress party have always been helpful for all the sections of society and this policy will continue in future as well. When the Congress Party comes to power all the hardships of the OBC will be removed on priority basis, he added.

Criticising the Khattar Government for its inefficiency, the HPCC chief said that the female population of Haryana does not dare to come out of their homes due to deteriorating law and order situation. He criticized the Chief Minister for his anti-women statement.

He stressed the need of strengthening the Booth Committees and appoint 10 booth sahayogis at each booth under the leadership of Booth Samrat. He exhorted that all sections including OBC should be given proper representation in booth committees. 

He claimed that the people in Haryana have made up their mind to bring the Congress party back in power under the leadership of Mr Rahul Gandhi and expressed confidence that the party will all the 10 seats of Lok Sabha in Haryana and more than 80 seats in the Vidhan Sabha.
