UP govt to spend Rs 25 crores to purchase for VVIP travel and security

Lucknow ,Nov 20(UNI) Uttar Pradesh government has given its nod to purchase vehicles in large numbers to be used for VVIP security in the state particularly in Gorakhpur and Ghaziabad.


The government will purchase 114 vehicles with a cost of Rs 25 crores for the VVIPs for their travel and security.


The proposal was approved by the state cabinet here on Tuesday.
According to the proposals , 16 vehicles including three bullet proof and two jammer vehicles at a cost of Rs 6.3 crores would be used for Gorakhpur and Ghaziabad , said government spokesperson.


Besides this 79 vehicles for security purposes would be purchased at a cost of Rs 16.25 crores in other districts of the state.


Besides this state Estate department will purchase 17 Luxary vehicles including Innova, Scorpio and Honda cars for VVIPs with a cost of Rs 2.46 crores.
