Radha Mohan lauds efforts of country’s fisherfolk in enhancing fish production

New Delhi, Nov 21 (UNI) Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh on Wednesday

lauded the efforts of the country’s fisherfolk in enhancing fish production, creating avenues of employment and nutritional security.

‘On #WorldFisheriesDay, I laud the efforts of our fisherfolks in enhancing fish production, creating avenues of #Employment & #NutritionalSecurity.

The “Fisheries & Aquaculture Infrastructure Development Fund” of Rs 7522 crore will augment production & create more jobs,’ Mr Singh tweeted.

November 21 is celebrated as World of Fisheries Day worldwide every year.

The day highlights the importance of healthy ocean ecosystems and to ensure sustainable stocks of fisheries in the world. Fishing communities celebrate this day through rallies, workshops, public meetings, cultural dramas, exhibition, and music shows.
