Uttar Pradesh governor Ram Naik, chief minister Yogi Adityanath and others paid their tributes to late Prime Minister Chaudhury Charan Singh on his 116th birth anniversary on Sunday. Chief minister Yogi Adityanathi, while paying his floral tribute to the farmers leader here at the Vidhan Bhavan premises, said that the BJP government was looking after the well being of the farmers and due to its initiative the income of the farmers have now reached one and a half time of their production cost.
The CM also maintained that the farmers insurance scheme has benefited the rural populace of the country and now they are doing their farm work without any tension. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government at the Centre was working for the benefit of the farmers in the country,” he further claimed.
Talking about the initiative by his government, Yogi said after he came to power 86 lakh farmers were given farm loan waiver benefit to the tune of over Rs 23,000 crores. Meanwhile, the Rashtriya Lok Dal(RLD) organised the day as Kisan Diwas and held several programmes in different parts of the state.
In Lucknow, a havan was organised at the state party office and later the leaders and workers took out a march to garland the statue of Chaudhury Charan Singh at the Vidhan Bhawan.
