Melbourne, Dec 24 (UNI) Australian speedster Mitchell Starc has heaped praises on Indian skipper Virat Kohli calling him as a ‘fantastic captain’ while playing in the same team for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League.
The Indian skipper had war of words with stand-in captain Tim Paine during the Perth Test which the visitors lost by 146 runs on the 5th day. Kohli also faced sharp criticism from former Australian players for his on-field behaviour.
However, Starc stood by Kohli saying “I’ve played a couple of IPLs with Virat and he’s been fantastic to play under, as a captain,” Starc told reporters.
“Obviously, he’s a fantastic player. The way India play this series and go about their cricket, it’s up to them,” said the speedster.
Both the teams are tied 1-1 in the four-match series.
The third Test will be played on December 26 at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground.
