New Delhi/Hyderabad, Dec 26 (UNI) Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Wednesday.
KCR during his first meeting with Mr Modi after the Telangana Rashtra Samiti’s landslide victory in the recent Assembly elections and after he was sworn in for a second term as CM, discussed several issues pertaining to the state.
During his 40 minutes meeting with the Prime Minister, KCR had presented memorandum on 16 issues renewing the state’s request for grant of central funds for the Mission Bhagiratha drinking water supply scheme, release of Rs 30,000 crores special package and grant of defence land.
KCR also renewed the state’s request for the setting up of a railway factory at Kazipet and steel plant at Bayyaram besides an IIT in the state.
KCR is also expected to meet union ministers during his Delhi stay.
The TRS president had arrived in the national capital Monday night after meeting his Odisha and West Bengal counterparts–Naveen Patnaik and Mamata Banerjee respectively– during the last couple of days in his efforts to forge a non-Congress and non-BJP federal front of like-minded regional parties.
He is also slated to meet Bhahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Chief Mayawati and Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav during his stay in Delhi to discuss his proposal to stitch a federal front.
