New year eve-entries restricted to Tourist spot at Muthathi forest–Chamundi hills


Mandya/Mysuru Dec 30 The Mandya Distict police have restricted the entry to Muthathi forest fringe, in Malavalli taluk on New Year Eve in the distric


The entry to the forest region has been banned between December 31and January 1 following instructions from revenue officials. A large number of youths from Bengaluru, Mysuru and other parts visit the region for celebration every year.


Besides, Srirangapatna police have clamped prohibitory orders at tourist hot spots such as Balamuri, Yedamuri, Karepur, Karighatta, Boredevara temple and Mahadevapura bridge, to check mishaps during revelry.
The measures have been taken to check littering at tourist places. As a large number of people gather in these areas for celebration, dumping of plastic materials becomes rampant.


Meanwhile in Mysuru too, entry of vehicles and people is restricted on the Chamundi Hill, except for the residents on the New Year Eve.
