Ind to take on Aus in last Test on Thursday

Sydney, Jan 2 India would take on Australia in the last Test of four match-series here on Thursday at Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG). The Test match will be very special as it will be 11th ‘Pink Test’ Down Under.
India are leading the series by 2-1. If India win the series it will be their first Test series win on Australian soil.

Cricket Australia Chief Executive Officer Kevin Roberts said, ”Every year we’re overwhelmed by the support the Pink Test generates for the McGrath Foundation. From the two teams taking part in the Test, to the thousands of fans who bathe the SCG in pink, the cricket community should feel proud of the positive difference they make to people touched by breast cancer.”
The cricket community, both on and off the field, wear pink as a symbolic show of support for those experiencing breast cancer and raise much needed funds for the McGrath Foundation.

The McGrath Foundation is a breast cancer support and education charity in Australia that raises money to increase awareness about it.
The foundation was started by former Australia medium pacer Glenn McGrath after his wife was diagnosed with the disease in 2005. Jane passed away three years after that.
The day three of the Sydney Test, that is January 5, 2019 will be known as ‘Jane McGrath Day’.

The money raised throughout the Pink Test is used to support the Foundation in placing specialist McGrath Breast Care Nurses wherever they are needed – across Australia, for free.

Till now both the teams have met twice in the ‘Pink Test’ with Australia winning one, and the second one ending in a draw.

The visiting team have announced its 13-man squad for the SCG Test. Senior campaigner Ishant Sharma was dropped for the Test.
While the hosts opted not to announce their team.

According to local media reports, Aaron Finch and Mitch Marsh won’t feature in Australian play eleven.
However, there is no official word from the Australian camp, with Test captain Tim Paine saying on match eve the national selectors would make a call on the final XI after inspecting the pitch one last time on Wednesday afternoon.

“There’s ongoing discussion the last day or two but we’ll have a final look at the wicket and we’ll have our last chat then,” Australia captain Tim Paine told media.
