Mumbai, Jan 2 (UNI) The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Wednesday slipped by 71.96 points at 36,182.81 on profit booking by local operators at higher level.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too declined by 33 points to 10,877.
The Sensex registered intra-day high and low at 36,236.70 and 36,035.78 respectively.
The Nifty recorded intra-day high and low at 10,895.35 and 10,839.30 points respectively.
The sectoral indices like Materials, Energy, Industrial, Telecom and Utilities pushed the sensex down.
The losers were M & M by 3.40 pc to Rs 747.30, VEDL by 2.99 pc to Rs 196.10, Tata Steel by 2.30 pc to Rs 503.70, Hero MotoCorp by 2.21 pc to Rs 3059.50 and Tata Motors by 1.08 pc to Rs 170.60.
The gainers were TCS by 1.46 pc to Rs 1930.05, Yes Bank by 1.38 pc to Rs 186.80, Infosys by 1.11 pc to Rs 672 and SBI by 0.89 pc to Rs 302.
