Panchkula, Jan 3: Former Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and senior Congress leader Moti Lal Vora were granted bail by a CBI court here on Thursday in a case pertaining to the alleged illegal re-allotment of land to Associated Journals Ltd (AJL) in Panchkula in 2005.
CBI judge Jagdeep Singh granted bail to former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Moti Lal Vora on furnishing a bail bond of Rs five lakh each.
Both Congress leaders were handed over the copies of chargesheet filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) against them. The next date for hearing has been fixed for February six.
The CBI had filed the chargesheet against Hooda, Vora and Associated Journals Ltd (AJL), publisher of the National Herald newspaper, in special CBI court in Panchkula on December one last year, for the alleged illegal re-allotment of land.
