Aurangabad, Jan 9: Normal life was thrown out of gear here when a strike called by 10 central trade unions against the central government’s anti-labour policies entered its second day.
More than 14 crore employees from both organised and unorganised sector joined the protest on Tuesday. In Aurangabad district only, about two lakh employees carried out morcha and dharna at various places.
The union demands adequate recruitment, sufficient wage revision and old pension scheme for new employees. It is vehemently opposing disinvestment and merger of banking and public sector.
However, the Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh, which is affiliated to the ruling BJP is not participating in the strike.
